Vote for a contemporary gallery at the old science centre

We have talked at length in the paper about the need for a contemporary art gallery in Calgary including this cover story from last year talking about the push from the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and the Institute for Modern and Contemporary Art (IMCA) to colonize the old science centre building on the west end of downtown.

Well the Downtown West association is looking for input on what it should do with the old building making it easy to log in and vote or to post your own idea for the space.

Far be it for me to pressure you but VOTE FOR THE CONTEMPORARY GALLERY! For the love it is well past embarassing that we don’t have one in a city of over 1 million people.

It appears that a lot of people agree with multiple postings suggesting the same thing. MOCA and IMCA along with the Art Gallery of Calgary and supporters are all over it as well. If you want to vote for their specific proposal it’s just a click away . There are only two more days of voting.

The IMCA/MOCA group will be submitting a formal expression of interest on the site to the city on Tuesday June 4.
