Aboriginal Albertan activists are holding a “teach-in” this Sunday January 19 at 4:00 pm in the John Dutton Theatre at the Central Library.
Guest speakers include Crystal Lameman of Beaver Lake Cree Nation (pictured) Shannon Houle of Saddle Lake Cree Nation Gitz Deranger of Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and Jesse Cardinal of Keepers of the Athabasca.
The Athabasca Chipewyan First Nations have filed a legal action to overturn the recent federal approval of the Shell Jackpine mine expansion. One hundred per cent of the proceeds of Young’s concert tour are going to support the lawsuit.
