Down to Earth Week celebrates homegrown living

REAP (Respect for the Earth and All People) Business Association’s sixth annual Down to Earth Week will start off with a focus on ethical and environmentally conscious fashion at Sustainable Style YYC.

The event on Thursday April 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the historic Arrata Opera Centre features a keynote presentation by Myriam Laroche founder of Vancouver’s Eco Fashion Week and owner of the clothing line Myriam’s Closet. In the style lounge guests will have a chance to visit with Alberta designers and retailers and buy locally made and sustainable clothing and accessories.

Down to Earth Week also features a family event on Saturday April 12 at the Calgary Farmers’ Market and a screening of the documentary Trashed on Monday April 14 at the Cardel Theatre in Quarry Park.

REAP is a non-profit association that represents locally owned environmentally conscious and community-minded businesses in Southern Alberta.
