We’re one step closer to getting our new central library with the beginning of a process to encapsulate the LRT line which runs right through the site.
The Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) which is responsible for redeveloping the East Village has released a video showing how the LRT will be protected from construction and how it will fit into the as-yet-undisclosed plans for the library.
The encapsulation process is scheduled to be finished by the summer of 2015 and Calgarians will get their first look at the design of the new library by fall of this year.
