Doris MacKinnon with “Community Builder – Isabella Hardisty Lougheed”

Learn more about Lady Isabella’s involvement in community organizations in Calgary before and during WWI. Her involvement in diverse organizations such as Southern Alberta Women’s Pioneer and Oldtimer Association the Victorian Order of Nurses the Imperial Order Daughter of the Empires and the Calgary Symphony Orchestra helped establish Calgary as a thriving prairie settlement and contributor to the war effort. Doris MacKinnon obtained her Ph.D. in Western Canadian and Aboriginal History from the University of Calgary in 2012.
