Win tickets to La Ronde at MRU’s gorgeous Bella Concert Hall

If you’ve never set foot in the Bella Concert Hall at Mount Royal University, we’d like to help.

The gorgeous space, which opened in late 2015, is fast becoming one of the city’s most versatile and smartly used music rooms thanks to its stunning acoustics and beautiful architecture.

Recent concerts in the hall for their Music to Your Ears 2016-17 season have featured everyone from reggae legend Ziggy Marley, piano pop artist Chantal Kreviazuk and local singer Raghav to Calgary classical star Jan Lisiecki, acclaimed jazz drummer Brian Blade and his Fellowship Band and Canada’s beloved astronaut extraordinaire Chris Hadfield.

Upcoming shows include the Kronos Quartet (March 22) and Pedrito Martinez and Guests (April 22).

This Friday, though, the room will be used for its sonic and visual qualities, but also the stage space itself, as it will host a multi-disciplinary production La Ronde. The program, which is performed by New York-based Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca, combines Flamenco dance with music for a spectacle that tells the story of Arthur Schnitzler’s La Ronde — a sizzling exploration of sex and class.

Rumour has it that the folks at the Bella have built a dancefloor specifically for the occasion.

They want you to see it, hear it, experience it and we want you to see it, hear it, experience it.

Which is why they’ve given theYYSCENE a pair of tickets to the show to give away to one of our excellent readers.

To enter to win a pair of ducats to the Friday night concert, please like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and message or tweet at us the answer to the question: When was the play La Ronde first printed/published? (Hint: Google it. Easy.)

The winner will be notified by whatever means they entered by noon on Friday. (Please note that the tickets are non-transferable.)

Good luck!
