Fashion Forward fundraising event a stylish way to support a great cause

Evening featuring local stylists and designers will raise money for women fleeing domestic violence.

A house party of fashion and food will help women fleeing domestic violence through the annual Fashion Forward YYC fundraiser next week.

For the fourth year, this event creates a special evening with a fashion show featuring local stylists and designers, pop-up shops for purchasing pieces straight from the runway, a silent auction and plenty of tasty treats — all of which raises money for HomeFront, an organization that works with the justice system, police and community partners to help and support those leaving domestic violence situations and navigating their next steps.

MacArthur Fine Furniture will transform their showroom into a house party of sorts for the event, creating space for the runway, as well as special seating areas for VIP groups.

Guests are encouraged to bring donations of clothing, shoes and accessories for a chance to win a designer handbag.

Last year, the event raised more than $80,000 for HomeFront — a much-needed infusion of dollars for the organization which continues to see an increase in clients.

The June 15th event starts at 7 p.m. and goes until 11 at MacArthur Fine Furniture, 67 Glenbrook Place S.W.

General tickets are $150, while VIP spots, which include two free drinks, reserved seating for the fashion show and a special swag bag are $200. The Ultimate VIP package ($250 per person for a group of eight) offers a living room set up for the group, front row seating for the fashion show, swag bags, two drink tickets and post-show prosecco and treats.

More information is available at fashionforwardyyc.com.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
