Feist, Tanya Tagaq among acts featured in MRU’s Taylor Centre fall concert season

It’s one of Calgary’s best rooms and it will be filled with some suitably amazing acts this fall.

Mount Royal University has just unveiled its Taylor Centre Concert Season and it’s an eclectic array of artists who will be playing their beautiful Bella Concert Hall, kicking off with the previously announced three-night-stand by former local lady Feist, Sept. 27-29.

Other performances in the coming months include: internationally renowned ensemble the Israeli Chamber Project on Oct 4; Canadian rock vet Barney Bentall and his annual all-star-studded Cariboo Express Concert taking place Nov. 4; MRU’s own flagship conservatory participants, the Calgary Youth Orchestra, Nov. 19; Polaris Music Prize-winning, experimental Inuk throat singer Tanya Tagaq Nov. 22; and a pair of the university’s yuletide offering Winter Fantasia Dec. 10 and Sounds of the Season Dec. 16, featuring conservatory members and ensembles, along with local a cappella wiseacres the Heebee-jeebees.

Some conservatory faculty members will also get the opportunity to show off their talents during the MRU Guitar Showcase, taking place in the TransAlta Pavillion on Oct. 22.

Tickets for all of the events — save for the final two Feist shows, which are already sold out — are available now from the Taylor Centre website here
