Scene In the Wild Podcask: Episode No. 3, director Sandi Somers

In the third episode of the Scene In the Wild Podcask, I sat down with award-winning Calgary filmmaker Sandi Somers.

The director is releasing her feature length debut Ice Blue, which will premiere Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Calgary International Film Festival, screening again Saturday, Sept 30.

In this wide-ranging interview recorded at the Wild Rose Taproom on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, Somers spoke about the making of and inspiration behind Ice Blue, how she first got into filmmaking, the gender inequality when it comes to directors in this country, and her program to help rectify that, Herland.

Thanks once again to Lorrie Matheson for producing Scene In the Wild at his Arch Audio studio, to Wild Rose Brewery for sponsoring it, to the Taproom staff for hosting it and for Somers for sharing her story.

Please feel free to download here or subscribe to the Scene In the Wild Podcask at the iTunes store for past and future episodes.

Cheers.
