Families are in fashion this weekend as PARKFAMILY pops up at Southcentre Mall

Fashion is a family affair this weekend.

PARK, the Calgary-based fashion organization behind PARKLUXE and PARKSHOW, has partnered with Southcentre Mall and [pre]shrunk — a consignment store for children and expectant mothers — for a weekend of family-focused fashion, complete with pop-up shop and runway shows.

Recognizing that fans of local and Canadian fashion who have supported PARK are now starting to have families, the organization has created PARKFAMILY to reflect its evolving following.

Pop-up shops will be open for most of the weekend: 4 p.m. to 8 on Friday, Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Style Academy on the Runway, which features half-hour sessions run by some of Calgary’s top stylists talking about common fashion challenges facing moms and their children, runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Stylists will also be available for one-on-one sessions.

On Saturday at 11 a.m., PARKFAMILY will hit the runway with a fashion show featuring looks from [pre]shrunk, Southcentre retailers and local designers.

VIP tickets for the fashion show, which include front-row reserved seating, a premium gift bag and a $25 gift card to Southcentre, are $45. (Special kids pricing in the VIP section for $10.) General seating tickets are $30 and come with seats in the second row, a gift bag and $10 Southcentre gift card.

The rest of the activities, including the Style Academy sessions, are free.
