Eric Church, Lindsay Ell, Toby Keith among first wave of acts for Country Thunder 2018

And the thunder will be rolling in again.

At a press conference at famed local cowboy club Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall on Thursday, organizers officially announced the return of Country Thunder Alberta to Calgary’s Prairie Winds Park in the city’s northeast Aug. 17-19, 2018.

And with it, the first wave of C&W superstars who will be gracing the stage for the festival’s third year, including: previously announced headliner Eric Church; red-blooded American legend Toby Keith; incredible homegrown rising talent Lindsay Ell; multiple CCMA- and Juno Award-winning vet Dean Brody; and Sasky-born, 2016 CCMA Female Artist of the Year Jess Moskaluke.

Wrapping up the initial acts announced are Madeline Merlo, Hunter Brothers and Bryan White.

“We are proud to create the ultimate city festival experience for our fans in Calgary again in 2018,” Country Thunder Music Festivals CEO Troy Vollhoffer said in a release. “We are incredibly excited to announce this first part of what will be a dream line-up for Country Thunder Alberta.”

Previous acts appearing at the local version of the festival, which has other events in Arizona, Wisconsin and Saskatchewan, have included Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Big & Rich and Brad Paisley.
