Red Fang, METZ, Less Than Jake among headliners announced for 2018 edition of Calgary’s Big Winter Classic

Winter just got better. And bigger.

This past weekend organizers announced the lineup for the upcoming Big Winter Classic celebration of music, arts and beer and it’s an impressive one.

Headliners for the event, which takes place Jan. 18 to 21 at several venues in the city, include: American stoner rock staples Red Fang; glorious Ontario noise punks METZ; skankin’ Florida ska boys Less Than Jake; acclaimed Cali artist Melina Duterte’s project Jay Som; and East Coast duo Partner.

The rest of the lineup of local and North American acts includes Duchess Says, Guantanamo Baywatch, Daniel Romano, Shred Kelly, Bend Sinister, Actors Eamon McGrath, B. Rich, Uptights, Audio/Rocketry, Jung People, Matt Blais, The Heirlooms A-BOMB, Look Vibrant, Crooked Spies, Raleigh, Fake Diamonds, Abductees, Mister & Mystic, The Rumble, The Corey Hotline, Time Boy, Sellout, Altameda, Mammoth Grove, Robot Workers, LASHES, Cold Water, Dabdorians, Speed Control, I Am The Mountain, Flowshine, Craic The Lens, Pancake, Lion Pride and The Night Terrors.

Participated rooms for the fest include Last Best Brewing and Distilling, Broken City, Dickens and the Gerry Thomas Art Gallery, with both Last Best and Broken City hosting inside and patio stages throughout the weekend.
