Randy Bachman, Quartetto Gelato among acts performing during MRU’s winter Taylor Centre concert season

Canadian music icon Randy Bachman will be bringing some songs and stories to town early next year as part of Mount Royal University’s winter Taylor Concert Season, which the institution announced on Wednesday.

Bachman, a member of classic rock act The Guess Who and Bachman–Turner Overdrive, and now the host of CBC’s popular Vinyl Tap show, will be at the beautiful Bella Concert Hall on March 19. The musician will be performing songs and sharing some memories of late Beatles member George Harrison over the course of the evening.

Other shows during the early 2018 season at the Bella include: popular Canadian classical crossover act Quartetto Gelato on Jan. 17; acclaimed Italian pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi on Jan. 21; and a special co-presentation with JazzYYC of a performance of Charlie Parker With Strings featuring PJ Perry and the legendary Tommy Banks on Feb. 10.

Tickets for all shows — including the final two shows of the Fall season, Winter Fantasia (Dec. 10) and Sounds of the Season (Dec. 16) — are available from MRU’s website here.
