Annual SoundOff event once again set to bring the music industry to Calgary to discover, develop its incredible artists

The sound of the city?

This city?

Amazing. Exciting. Diverse. Supportive.

And once again that will be on full display during the fourth annual Calgary music happening SoundOff Summit Conference, which takes place Feb. 22-24 at various supportive live venues around the city.

The festival and conference’s one goal is to bring the industry from around the globe — agents, promoters, labels, managers, publicists, etc. — to this part of the world to showcase the best that the city has to offer in all different genres and help them take that next step.

Over the course of the three days, an incredible array of established acts will perform, including Ghostkeeper, Mariel Buckley, Raleigh, Clinton St. John, Windigo, 36?, Crooked Spies, FOONYAP, Evan Freeman, Astral Swans and Transit.

Some of the tastemakers and speakers being brought in include “music industry representatives from Germany’s Paper and Iron Booking and Bytem FM, Phantom Limb Label Services, the UK’s Sublime Management, Mar on Music, Feldman Agency, One Entertainment, Bedlam Management, First Date Touring and more from across Canada.”

As Music Calgary — the presenting, not-for-profit organization “that provides advocacy, education, direction and resources to Calgary musicians and the Calgary music industry” — is proud to point out, previous SoundOff’s have resulted in local faves Reuben and the Dark, Transit, Mark Mills and Port Juvee seeing tangible results from their showcases at the event, including label, publicity and management deals and representation.

Single tickets are available in advance for $10 or $15 at the door, with the panels, taking place at the Hilton Garden Inn in the East Village (711 4 St. S.E.) free and all ages. Donations will be accepted — and are, from this chair, urged and encouraged — for the Chris Reimer Legacy Fund.

If you’re thinking of attending, which, again, you most certainly should, here’s the list of acts that will be performing at this year’s SoundOff:
