Another day, another festival popping up in the new Music City of the north.
And this one’s a good’er, Calgary.
Add to your calendar, folks, the East Town, Get Down event which will feature a whopping 60 amazing area acts performing Saturday, May 26 over a six-block walk along International Avenue.
The collaboration between the International Avenue BRZ and local all-ages proponents Major Minor Music Project will see some of the city’s best performing from 7 p.m. to midnight in diverse venues along 17th Ave. S.E. ranging from popular bowling alley Paradise Lanes to bars and restaurants such as Salsa Restaurant, TG Juice Bar, Ensira Restaurant, Fassil Restaurant, Border Crossing and Jane Bond BBQ.
The inspiration behind East Town, Get Down, according to organizers, is “the thriving Calgary independent music scene, major festivals like SXSW, and the excitement of International Avenue.”
