Dean Brody, Meghan Patrick, Tebey and Hunter Brothers added to 2019 CCMA Awards show in Calgary

The stars of Canadian country music will be out in full force in Calgary come September.

As we head towards the date, Organizers of the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, taking place at the Saddledome on Sept. 8, continue to announce the talent that will be on display during the show, which will be televised live on Global at 7 p.m. and broadcast on radio locally on Country 105.

First there was the announcement that Old Dominion and Tenille Townes will be performing, then came news that the co-hosts for the show will be Dallas Smith and Achy Breaky American artist Billy Ray Cyrus, and now comes another wave of acts who will appear, including Dean Brody, Meghan Patrick, Tebey and Hunter Brothers.

They’ll join other chart-topping acts and recent CCMA winners and nominees James Barker Band, Alberta’s own MacKenzie Porter, West Coast veteran Aaron Pritchett and 2019 Slaight Music Humanitarian Award recipient — an award that “recognizes a person(s) and/or event(s) that have made an outstanding contribution of time and energy in the support of humanitarian causes through country music in Canada” — and Calgary pride and joy Paul Brandt.

Tickets to the awards are available now from ticketmaster.ca, with extra sections and seating also being put on sale today. (Note: $1 from each ticket goes directly to MusicCounts, “Canada’s music education charity,” in support of their ongoing programs and initiatives.)

The Awards will be the culmination of Country Music Week, which runs Sept. 5 to 8 in the city, and features a number of public events including: the free CCMA Fan Fest in the Fan Tent on Saturday, Sept. 7, that will give country lovers the opportunity to interact with some of their favourite performers; and the Legends Show on Friday, Sept 6 at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, which features performances by such acts as Lindsay Ell, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Great Big Sea’s Alan Doyle, The Reklaws, The Wilkinsons and Michelle Wright (tickets available here https://artscommons.ca/whats-on/2019/ccma-legends-show/ ).
