Laurie Anne Fuhr’s back hosting our Single Onion OPEN MIC, this month featuring Nikki Sheppy!
All ages, all styles, all genders, all welcome! Our night kicks off with our featured poet, then you can read or perform 2 to 3 of your own poems. Sign up starting at 6:45 pm. Be sure to support the cafe with a purchase of food and/or drink. Bring cash to buy books directly from the featured poet!
About our Featured Poet: Nikki Sheppy
Nikki Sheppy is a poet and editor, with a doctorate in English literature. She’s Managing Editor of Calgary’s filling Station magazine for another two months before heading east. Her book, Fail Safe, was published by the University of Calgary Press in 2017, and her poetry chapbook, Grrrrlhood: a ludic suite, was published by Kalamalka Press in 2014. She loves pomegranates.

About the Single Onion Open Mic:
Happening the third Monday of each month at Hear’s My Soul Cafe from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, this OPEN MIC series for poetry, curated by Laurie Fuhr for Single Onion, encourages poets of every style to take the mic and share their words, whether written for the page or the stage — or both. Hear’s My Soul Cafe is all ages. Handcrafted coffee, frappes, smoothies, and yes beer are all available along with delicious paninis. Please buy tasty stuff and support the cafe so we can continue to enjoy it!
For those of legal drinking age, there is beer and wine available for purchase.
