Pete’s Peanut Pub

Burger : Naked beef burger ($9.99) — a toasted cheese bun loaded with a thick patty shredded lettuce tomato red onions pickles mayo ketchup and mustard.

Sides : Served with house salad and fries. It’s possible to substitute either one with homemade nacho chips and salsa (99 cents) perogies and sour cream ($1.79) Caesar salad ($1.99) or onion rings ($2.29).

Atmosphere : A medium-sized welcoming pub with tons of TVs — which is kind of the point of a sports pub right? At one end the entire wall is adorned with TVs with one giant screen split into four different feeds and anchored by two more big screens on each side. Make sure to help yourself to a complementary basket of peanuts on the way in.

Menu : There are several patty options: beef chicken pork veggie or buffalo. From there you have the choice between several styles: naked cheesy bacon mushroom cordon bleu stuffed Mediterranean mozza pepper and Mexican. Beyond that there’s a good assortment of appetizers salads wraps soups sandwiches pizzas and some Mexican fare. Pete’s also serves breakfast daily until 4 p.m.

Decision : Triple P (get it?) puts together a great burger. Based on how good the naked version was I’m certain that the accessorized versions would also be stellar. The produce was cold and crisp and fresh meaty juices ran out of the moist patty as I held the ample package. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the others.

Next Up : 99th Avenue Café 10002 Macleod Trail South (in the Stetson Village Inn).
