Calgary International Film Festival unveils full lineup

Later this month from September 20 to 30 our city’s screens will enjoy the 13th edition of the annual Calgary International Film Festival. Now festival organizers have unveiled the entire lineup.

The fest will kick off with an opening gala featuring the Salman Rushdie adaptation Midnight’s Children on September 20. Then on September 29 the closing gala will feature the French-Canadian film Mars et Avril .

Other galas include The Green Carpet Gala featuring the climate change documentary Chasing Ice on September 24 and The Black Carpet Gala which features the off-putting Antiviral on September 28. There will also be a special 20 year anniversary screening of Clint Eastwood’s Alberta-shot film Unforgiven on September 22.

The films headlining the festival include 2 Days in New York Yaron Zilberman’s A Late Quartet Nigel Cole’s All in Good Time Michael Haneke’s Amour Jennifer Devoldére’s The Day I Saw Your Heart Leos Carax’s Holy Motors Ruba Nadda’s Inescapable Pablo Larrian’s No Jeremy Torrie’s Path of Souls and Nate Meyer’s See Girl Run .

Aside from the galas and headliners there’s plenty for film fans to sink their teeth into including a spotlight on 3D films a spotlight on Japanese films and as expected a solid lineup of Canadian world and American cinema alongside shorts documentaries and much more.
