There are quite a few familiar amongst the Governor General’s Literary Awards finalists particularly for drama.

Karen Hines gets the nod for her play Drama: A Pilot Episode which we featured on our February 2 cover . Cathy Ostlere and Theatre Calgary’s Dennis Garnhum are in the running for Lost: A Memoir.

Judd Palmer of Old Trouts Fame is on the list for Children’s Literature for The Umbrella. It says he lives in Victoria B.C. Judd did you move? If so why? We demand answers. We’re still counting this one as a local nod for now.

In the category of translation from French to English John Murrell will slug it out with four other hopefuls for his work on The Small Room at the Top of the Stairs & Thinking of Yu.

Congratulations to all the nominees. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Rideau Hall on November 28.
