Apparently Calgarians really like it here

It must be report card season because Calgarians have issued theirs for the city they call home. A telephone survey of 1000 adult Calgarians found 88 per cent of us think life here is “good” (not fantastic) while 18 per cent say life is worse now than it was last year.

The vast majority of respondents give the city administration a “good” rating (95 per cent) with most also stating the city responds quickly to citizen concerns and conducts government in a transparent accessible manner.

The city can’t rest on its metaphorical laurels though as surveyed Calgarians said transportation infrastructure and traffic congestion should top the administrative agenda. Concerns with the transportation network rated highest for 38 per cent of respondents. Statistically this means transportation is more important than crime education the environment homelessness and budgeting.

The margin of error for the 2012 Citizen Satisfaction Survey is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points 19 times out of 20. The survey was conducted by Ipsos Reid.
