Local pop-punk quintet Sabertooth released one of the city’s best offerings with 2011’s Making Light of a Shitty Situation . Now they plan to follow it up with a new 7-inch called Morning Breath .
Recorded by Vancouver punk great Jesse Gander (whose recent credits include White Lung’s Sorry among others) the release showcases the band’s penchant for melodic hardcore-tinged pop-punk. It’s the most full and heavy they’ve ever sounded but all of the grit is still firmly in place.
Morning Breath will be available on March 1 via new local label Debt Offensive Records . Two of the record’s songs can be streamed below.
Sabertooth will also celebrate the new release with a pair of shows. They’ll play March 1 at Broken City with Teledrome The Throwaways and PMMA and March 2 at Tubby Dog with The Mandates Spastic Panthers and Bitter Pricks. Go to both shows.
