Smith and Mason to square off in debates
Who says the left and the right can never co-operate? Two of Alberta’s opposition parties are striving to put that notion to rest sort of.
The provincial NDP and the Wildrose party will hit the road together for six debates between leaders Brian Mason and Danielle Smith respectively on campuses through Alberta. The topics will be current issues in Alberta and “the overall direction the province would take in a post-PC era.”
“Our two parties have very different visions for how Alberta should be governed but we both share a conviction that this province can be better” says Smith in a press release.
The debates will be hosted by student associations at each campus. The tour will start in Edmonton at the University of Alberta on September 18 and will wrap up in Calgary at Mount Royal on October 17.
