Wordfest authors on Giller Prize shortlist

Three of the authors coming to this year’s Wordfest are among the five names on the shortlist for the prestigious Scotiabank Giller Prize .

The five finalists announced today include Lisa Moore for her novel Caught (House of Anansi Press) Craig Davidson for his novel Cataract City (Doubleday Canada) Lynn Coady for her short story collection Hellgoing Dennis Bock for his novel Going Home Again (HarperCollins) and Dan Vyleta for his novel The Crooked Maid (HarperCollins). Of the five Moore Davidson and Coady will be in Calgary and Banff next week for Wordfest which runs October 14 to 20.

The jury included Margaret Atwood Esi Edugyan and Jonathan Lethem. The winner will be announced on Tuesday November 5.
