The Calgary Municipal Land Corporation the city entity in charge of developing Calgary’s East Village has released a promotional video showing how the area will look when current plans are put into place. The new library the National Music Centre St. Patrick’s Island park and condos aplenty will rise in what was once the home of a less financially secure population.
Sure there are concerns about affordable housing and the gentrification of the city but this video is pretty snappy and shows some considerable promise for an area that’s currently mostly empty.
At the very least it shows how far the CMLC has come from pipe dream to reality.
