New round of grants to be delivered

Alberta Arts Flood Rebuild project has opened a second round of funding grants to artists and non-profit arts organizations affected by last year’s flood. The Alberta government The Calgary Foundation and a number of individual donors have contributed $325000 for the renewed funding program.

Until April 30 artists and art groups from anywhere in Alberta can submit applications for flood-relief funding.

“Many artists and arts organizations continue to feel the impact of the June 2013 floods” says Mary Rozsa de Coquet president of the Rozsa Foundation and chair of Alberta Arts Flood Rebuild’s granting committee. She says the money will increase the viability of the arts community following floods that devastated many art groups and destroyed artists’ homes collections and equipment.

Application guidelines are available at AlbertaArtsRebuild.ca . The program has already dispensed over $200000 to artists based on money raised through crowd-funding efforts immediately after the flood.
