Jeff Melanson president of The Banff Centre since 2012 resigned today for what a press release described as "family reasons." The same release says Melanson will move back to Toronto.
During his time at the helm of the Centre Melanson introduced a broad range of initiatives and new directions including plans for more activities in the centre of the Banff townsite to introduce more people to The Banff Centre. There are also plans for a radio station a TV station publications and more website content. All told Melanson’s dreams came with a price tag of about $1 billion.
There is no replacment for Melanson at this time but the press release says the search will start immediately for a replacement while the board puts together a transition plan.
No doubt there will be more information to come. The full release can be read here .
