B.C. against Gateway

First Nations and environmentalists at Enbridge AGM

A delegation of First Nations leaders and environmental advocates from British Columbia were in Calgary on May 7 to voice their concerns over the Northern Gateway pipeline project to shareholders at Enbridge’s annual general meeting.

ForestEthics campaigner Nikki Skuce says the delegation expects the federal government to approve the pipeline when it issues its decision in June.

“We’re here to really just get to the point that maybe government gives permits but the people give permission and they don’t have it. First Nations and residents of British Columbia are adamantly against Northern Gateway and are willing to do whatever it takes to stop it” says Skuce.
