Women’s Empowerment Night (WEN) is an annual event focusing on the empowerment of women who are homeless recent immigrants or otherwise marginalized and underserved. WEN provides women with access to and information about resources that foster physical mental and social well-being. Various health and social service organizations will be present at the event including The Walk-In Closet the Distress Centre Servants Anonymous Society Shift Calgary Alberta Works Women In Work Boots and the Calgary Sexual Health Centre. They will be providing information on available services as well as tips to maximize health. In addition MRU massage students meditation sessions and a nail painting station will be available for some pampering. A closet of donated women’s clothing will be available for guests to choose from and guests will also be provided with dinner and gift bags.
Admission is free and childcare will be provided at the event.
