Our goal is to help raise awareness of the Variety name among a new generation of Calgarians and save this proud organization.
Founded in 1982 by Colleen Klein and former broadcasting legend Ed Whalen Variety has raised millions of dollars to support children with disabilities and their families in their time of need. In recent years the charity has suffered from a lack of operating funds available grant money and necessary staffing. The situation was so dire that in late 2013 the charity considered closing its doors. Rejuvenated by a new and ambitious Board of Directors October 23 marks our first public event as we turn around the fate of the charity and restore it to prominence in the community.
