Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, Kaskade to headline this year’s Chasing Summer festival

To quoteth the campers and counsellors of Camp North Star: Are you ready for the summer?

Yes, of course you are. But are you ready to chase it?

If you’re an EDM lover in Calgary, most likely.

So you’ll be more than happy to hear that the headliners for the 2018 edition of Western Canada’s largest dance music festival, the Chasing Summer festival, have now been announced.

Acts performing during this year’s event, which takes place Aug. 4-5 at the Max Bell Centre Festival Grounds include: Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix; Grammy nominated French artist DJ Snake; American spinner Ryan Raddon, known to millions as Kaskade; and Dilpo disciple Dillon Francis.

Other performers who help round out the almost 30 who will get things bumping on the three stages over the course of the weekend are RL Grime, Borgore, Cash Cash, Malaa, Bro Safari, Sex Machine, Zaxx, Blu J, Tigerlily and Space Jesus.

“As Chasing Summer continues to grow, it gets more and more exciting to share each year’s lineup. 2018 is no exception,” said festival producer Harvey Cohen of Live Nation Canada in the release. “Fans are going to love the diversity of high calibre artists on the bill, plus some fresh surprises that we are working on for this year’s event.”

Genreral admission tickets and various VIP options go on sale Friday, March 2 from chasingsummerfestival.com, with layaway payment options available.

Changes to this year’s festival include the fact that it is now an all-ages event — except for the special VIP area — and there will be site-wide alcohol service to those over 18.
