Video killed the radio star?
Only after cable TV all but killed the radio play stars.
The Shadow, War of the Worlds, The Zero Hour, Dragnet — radio dramas have a long, storied history (one that arguably has been reignited through the podcast medium).
It’s one that our friends at The Kinkonauts, the local long-form improvisational troupe, are revisiting with their new production Radio Daze — a live, improvised, old-timey radio play set in the 1920’s!
Should be the bee’s knees.
And lucky for you they’re offering followers of theYYSCENE two pairs of tickets to their Thursday, April 26 showing of the production.
To win one of those just head to our Facebook page, find this post and tell us your favourite radio play, serial, drama or audio comedy show — either from the past or poddy present. We’ll pick the winners at random and let them know via direct message by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25.
And should you like what we’re doing at theYYSCENE — including giving away free stuff! — please consider supporting independent local arts and culture journalism by supporting our Patreon campaign.
