Alexisonfire, Billy Talent, Elle King among first acts announced for this year’s Calgary Stampede Coca-Cola Stage

Another summer music festival for the city?

Well, sort of.

Organizers at the Calgary Stampede have announced that this year’s Coca-Cola Stage lineup will be an “expanded, festival-style,” and feature more than 50 acts, including some big-name headliners and great local musicians.

“The Stampede is THE can’t-miss music destination for 2018, featuring some of today’s biggest artists,” said Samara Lastiwka, programming production panager at the Calgary Stampede, in a press release. “We look for artists who know how to get a crowd moving and we want people coming back for more. This summer’s lineup is more packed than ever with an extra day of headliners.”

Headliners announced in what is the first of three days of unveiling the artists who will take the outdoor stage on the midway July 5-15 include: Alexisonfire, Billy Talent, Elle King, Phantogram and The Rural Alberta Advantage.

They’ll be joined by other up-and-coming talent, many of whom are homegrown, such as The Dirty Nil, The Static Shift, Brad Sims, Lucas Chaisson, Jess Smith, Dextress, Altameda, Banners, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Johnson Crook, Amy Nelson,  Matt Blais and Mariel Buckley.

All shows on the Coke Stage are free with admission onto the Stampede Grounds.
