By all measures The Fifth Element is a stunning sci-fi classic — the acting, the directing, the costumes, the visuals, the story.
And it’s hard to believe that there is a generation or two that have never experienced Luc Besson’s 1997 epic on the big screen.
Thankfully our friends at The Fifth Reel will rectify that with a special screening of the film starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Chris Tucker at the Globe Cinema on Friday, June 1.
If you’ve never seen it or have yet to experience it the way it was meant upon its release — or have but want to do so again — it’s is a must.
Making it even better is this 10 p.m. showing is an 18+ licensed event with a pre-film performance by Polly Dactic, the solo project of local artist Nyssa Brown. And, as always, The Fifth Reel note, “audience participation and dressing up is always encouraged. Yelling, cheering, jeering, quoting-a-long are all also highly encouraged.”
Should be a blast.
And, well, underscoring how awesome these people are, they’ve given us a pair of tickets to give away to the screening.
You know the drill: Go to our Facebook page, find this post and tag a friend in the comments. That’s it! We’ll pick a winner at random and let them know via direct message by noon on Friday — that means keep your evening open.
Then, again, you should already be planning to go now that you know this amazing event is happening.
Good luck!
