We love to give.
And there is nothing better than giving the gift of a live music experience to someone who truly appreciates it.
Well, we’ve got another one we want to give to one reader of theYYSCENE.
This one is what should be another memorable evening — a concert by Australian roots-rock act the John Butler Trio Saturday, June 30 at the U of C’s MacEwan Hall.
The beloved, award-winning group are known for their intense and energetic live shows and for this tour, which precedes the fall release of their new album — they will preview new material as well as fan faves such as Zebra, Betterman and What You Want — they’ve added extra percussion and keyboards to their sound and band makeup. Thus the show being billed as John Butler Trio+.
A New Zealand Herald review of the current concert called it, “a masterclass in musicality and an inspirational piece of soul-shine. Slap percussion groove, sliding, bending – stunning. ‘Tis a rare thing when a (frontman’s) vocals are as accomplished as his guitar gift.”
So, of course you want to see it.
We can help.
The delightful folks at Live Nation have given us two pairs to make your Canada Day weekend that much better.
You know the drill: To enter, head to our Facebook page, find this post, and in the comments tag a friend who you think might like to join you for what should be an amazing night out.
We’ll let the winner know by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 29 via direct message.
It’s a quick turnaround, so get on it, spread the word, and good luck!
Oh. And if you love that we give and would maybe love to give back, please consider becoming a patron of theYYSCENE through our Patreon campaign.
