Wild Rose keeps the summer going with their Party In a Pale beer launch

Hell, no. The summer’s not over yet.

We’re going to cling to it until that first flake falls.

And what better way to do that than with BBQ, beer and a blues band?

On Friday, Sept. 14, Wild Rose Brewery is celebrating the release “into the wild” of their latest deliciousness, WR4 Pale Ale, with a party featuring all three dubbed the Party In A Pale.

The event, which takes place in The Barracks Room at the back of their Taproom (#2, 4580 Quesnay Wood Drive), will feature three teams of the Taproom’s kitchen crew competing with BBQ dishes that use the new brew in the recipe.

The beer is described as an “unfiltered pale ale (which) is brewed with Golden Naked Oats and flaked oats that provide a pleasant cloudiness and silky mouthfeel. The focus is on the flavour and aroma of citrusy Centennial hops and tropical, fruity El Dorado hops.”

The winner of the friendly competition — voted on by those in attendance — will have their item featured on the Taproom’s new, fall menu, which they’re launching in November (see —still summer).

To add to the fun, rising local act The Mitch Belot Band will be supplying the music and you’ll have an opportunity to win an actual pail of the new WR4 Pale Ale as one of several giveaways.

Tickets for the event are on sale now from ShowPass for $33, which gets you a sampling of all three BBQ dishes as part of a full meal, as well as two 14oz glasses of the beer.
