We’re happy, once again, to be sponsors of the National Music Centre’s amazing Alberta Spotlight series.
It’s a showcase for all of the musical talent that this region continues to produce and nurture.
The first concert in the new season is Saturday, Sept. 29 in the Studio Bell Performance Hall and it’s another stunning pairing of remarkable acts.
Headliner for the evening is Canadiana artist Lucette. The Edmonton-based singer-songwriter has toured with and opened for such notables as Sturgill Simpson, Alejandro Escovedo, Joe Ely and Rodgriguez.
Watch the video for Boby Reid and see why she’s a star on the rise.
Also on the bill is Hermitess, the project of Calgary’s Jennifer Crighton (of other local acts such as The Consonant C and Devonian Gardens), which features her, her songs, her harp and a revolving cast of other artists, mainly female.
It is yet another musical evening in this city that should not be missed.
So don’t. You can go here to get yourself a ticket.
Or. Or we’ve got some ducats to give away to a lucky reader of theYYSCENE.
To enter, head to our Facebook page, find this posting, and underneath leave a comment — something nice that might make us smile or make our day — while also tagging a friend who might also be interested. We’ll let the winner know by noon on Friday, Sept. 28 via direct message.
Good luck and please keep supporting local talent and local arts coverage.
