Yukon Blonde, Cadence Weapon, Holy Fuck headed to Banff for musical Gathering

Big acts, small venues.

That’s what The Gathering promises and that’s what they’ll deliver this February.

For those not in the know, The Gathering, which this year runs Feb. 20 to Feb. 22, is an annual celebration of the world’s best brands which takes place at the Fairmont Banff Springs Convention Centre and features workshops, speakers and an awards show.

Skateboarder, entrepreneur and philanthropist Tony Hawk will be in attendance to receive an award as well as give a keynote, along with movers and shakers from successful, high-profile international brands such as Marvel, Lush, IBM, Los Angeles Lakers, Porsche, The North Face, M&Ms and the Calgary Stampede.

But there’s also a musical element to the event, with previous Gatherings featuring performances by such big-name acts in some of Banff’s smaller venues including the Sam Roberts Band a couple of years ago in the Rose and Crown.

This year, things are stepped up with a couple of exclusive access shows and another amazing evening open to the public at large.

The first show is a Wednesday, Feb. 20 show at the Banff Springs, featuring Canadian faves Yukon Blonde and Dear Rouge. To get access to that concert you need to head to The Gathering’s website here and request access.

You’ll need to do the same for another VIP secret show at the Springs by Dear Rouge on Friday, Feb. 22, as well as pay $29.

That same night, though, anyone over the age of 18 can pay the same amount to see an incredible collection of acts in the comfy confines of the Rose — Canuck electro artists Holy Fuck, hip-hop stars Cadence Weapon and Bun B, and Calgary duo Beach Season.

All promise to be experiences to remember in an environment that’s invigorating and inspiring.

Head to The Gathering’s official site here for more information on the entire event.
