Rapsody, Jessica Pratt, Har Mar Superstar among second wave of Sled Island 2019 acts

The slow Sled reveal continues with a second wave that is as eclectic and impressive a group of artists as the first.

Among them are: Grammy nominated American hip-hop artist Rapsody; haunting Drag City folk artist Jessica Pratt; uber fun fan fave Har Mar Superstar; rising Kentucky rapper Jack Harlow; experimental Palestinian producer Muqata’a who’s referred to as “the godfather of underground hip-hop in Ramallah”; Ghanian performer King Ayisoba; Chicago-based artist, poet and activist Tasha; Future Now, the latest project from Canadian indie rock idol Ian Blurton; electro wiz Graham Van Pelt; and a pair of Korean acts, rockers DTSQ and pop three-piece numnum.

Some homegrown goodness was also announced, with Calgary acts making the cut including The Shiverettes, Chron Goblin, Melted Mirror, DRI HIEV, Lashes, Sunglaciers, Paradise, Sinzere, Clinton St. John’s Ig Bo Lyn, Corinthian, and NETRVNNNER.

Other acts and artists rounding out the second wave announcement are Blessed, Blue Odeur, Big Evil Rat, Matthew Cardinal, Michael Christmas, EXITS, The Garrys, Gym Tonic, Lemongrab, Leucrocuta, Lex Leosis, Marlaena Moore, Motherhood, Natural Sympathies, Jo Passed, Physical Copies and Psychic Pollution, Sister Ray, Life In Vacuum, Wine Lips and Justin Wright. 

They join previously announced Sled headliners such as Japanese Breakfast, JPEGMAFIA, Le1f, Bully, Oblivians, Man Or Astro-Man?, Fly Pan Am, Kid Congo Powers + the Pink Monkey Birds and performer and guest curator for the 2019 event Julien Baker.

Festival passes are on sale now from sledisland.com, Sloth Records and Lukes Drug Mart’s Bridgeland location with a limited number of tickets to just announced shows going on sale Friday, March 22 at noon.

The rest of the acts appearing at Sled, including for the comedy, film and art components, will be announced in the coming months.
