Blondie, Billy Idol to headline Roundup MusicFest 2019

Get ready to party like it’s the ’80s again.

The Roundup MusicFest has announced its lineup for this year and it’s a healthy dose of nostalgia for those who came of age during that decade, with headliners for the annual Stampede party including new wave legends and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Blondie led by vocalist Debbie Harry, and English punk mainstay Billy Idol.

Rounding out the lineup for this year’s event, which takes place July 10 at Shaw Millennium Park, are Vancouver party poppers Doug and the Slugs and ’90s Canrockers the Headstones.

“Whether you are an avid fan of classic rock, new wave or punk music, this is a not to be missed event!” said Sarah Geddes, communications director for the Roundup MusicFest, in a release.

“This will also be Blondie’s first time performing in Calgary, so to have her join ’80s rocker Billy Idol is a very rare concert opportunity.”

Tickets for this year’s Roundup go on sale Friday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. from Ticketmaster or from http://www.roundupmusicfest.com.

A portion of the proceeds raised from the concert will be donated to the Calgary Military Family Resource Centre, whose mandate is “to help our Canadian Armed Forces military personnel and their families cope with the unique military lifestyle challenges.”
