Calgary’s former home of the blues is getting back to the music in a serious way.
Yes, the King Eddy has been bringing in the best of acts in all genres of late — folk, funk, rock, pop, country and everything in between — but the music it originally became known for is also getting a lot of time on its stages of late.
Case in point: On Friday, May 17 of this May long weekend, the East Village venue is bringing in Juno-winning artist Harrison Kennedy.
The Hamilton, ON R&B, soul and electric blues musician, who’s played with such legends as B.B. King, James Brown, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder, will be returning to the city where he earned that Juno back in 2016, and it should be a smoking night.
Would you like to be there? Our friends at the Eddy have given us a pair of tickets to give away to the show, and we want you to have them.
To enter to win, please head to our Facebook page, find this post, and comment underneath tagging a fellow blues lover that you would like to take. We’ll pick a winner at random and let them know before the end of the day on Thursday, May 16 via direct message.
Good luck. And great blues.
