Love it loud? Love it local? Love it outside?
Then we’ve got a treat for you. Our friends at the National Music Centre are hosting their final Alberta Spotlight showcase of the season Friday, June 28 on the rooftop patio of Studio Bell, just above the King Eddy.
And the headliners for the event are acclaimed Calgary grindcore crew WAKE, whose 2018 album Misery Rites Noisey dubbed “a grinding blast of misanthropic therapy” and who were featured in last year’s documentary Slave to the Grind.
They are ferocious as hell.
Adding to the wonderful din will be Edmonton death metal act Begrime Exemious.
Sounds like a thrashingly good kick off to the Canada Day long weekend, eh?
Well, we can get you in.
To enter to win a pair of tickets to the show, please head to our Facebook page, perhaps think about giving us a like or a follow, find this post and comment under it with the name of another metalhead you’d like to take.
We’ll pick a winner at random and let them know by the end of the day Thursday, June 27.
And if you believe in independent arts and culture media in Calgary, please consider supporting us through our ongoing Patreon campaign. We would appreciate it.
