In just over a week, the Calgary Folk Music Festival will celebrate 40 years of making musical memories, by making many more.
The lineup for this year’s event, which takes place July 25 to 28 on Prince’s Island Park, is another astounding buffet of sounds from around the globe, including headliners such as Sharon Van Etten, Belle and Sebastian, Asleep at the Wheel, The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, Mekons, iskwe, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, The Strumbellas and more. You can view the whole lineup and schedule here.
So, yes, memories will be made over the weekend.
Do you want some?
Once again, theYYSCENE are proud folk fest sponsors, proud to support the amazing work they do, and as such they’ve been kind enough to give us a few pairs of tickets to give away to each day of the summer sonic spectacle.
If you’d like to attend, please head to our Facebook page, perhaps think about giving us a like, find this post and comment underneath, telling us which day you want to go, which act you’re most excited to see and tag a friend you’d like to take. We’ll pick the winners at random and let them know via direct message by the end of the day Tuesday, July 23.
Good luck.
And another gentle reminder, if you like what we do at theYYSCENE and want to support independent arts and culture coverage in Calgary, please consider becoming a patron through our ongoing Patreon campaign.
