The legends, both past and present, are coming.
Calgary will be full of them next week when Country Music Week sets up shop Sept. 5 to Sept. 8 culminating in the Canadian Country Music Association Awards show on the Sunday evening at the Saddledome.
Before that show, however, there will be so many opportunities through the week for locals to experience the music in its natural element — live.
One of the best is the CCMA Legends Show, which will take place Friday, Sept. 6 at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Hosted by Aaron Pritchett, the star-studded evening will feature performances and collaborations between artists Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Alan Doyle, Jade Eagleson, Lindsay Ell, Tim Hicks, Andrew Hyatt, The Reklaws, Deric Ruttan, Tenille Townes, The Wilkinsons and Michelle Wright.
It should be a once-in-a-lifetime event.
