Calgary Expo reveals new summer dates for 2020 event

Presumably it will be worth the brief wait.

A week after pulling the plug on their planned spring event, the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo has released the dates for its postponed 2020 festival.

The organization will celebrate their 15th anniversary this summer from July 17 to 19 on their regular home on the Stampede Grounds.

Tickets for the new expo go on sale April 15 from

There’s also an update who had tickets for the postponed April 23 to 26 event:

“They will be automatically refunded (excluding the service fees) giving you the flexibility to safely decide if you’re able to join us on the new show dates – which we hope you are.  The refund will be immediate, so you should see it on your credit card statement shortly depending on your financial institution. If you purchased Photo Ops and Special Event tickets, you will automatically be refunded. However, we’ll keep you updated as guests confirm their availability and when Photo Ops tickets go back on sale.”

To sweeten the pot, organizers have also announced some special offers for those currently holding tickets and passes that will be available until
April 14, including, “Exclusive access to tickets on new dates FIRST; NO service charges on any tickets; and Super Exclusive Calgary Expo Pin (that won’t be available anywhere else).”

Organizers advise ticket holders to “watch your inbox for your exclusive purchase link and don’t forget your tickets are fully refundable until two weeks prior to Calgary Expo.  More questions?  Check out the FAQs here.”

There’s no word yet on which of the guests booked for the original dates will be coming to the summer show, but it was a star-studded list that included such celebs as: Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista; a special Boy Meets World panel, reuniting the stars of the ’90s TV series; four of the cast members of the American version of The Office; a Hobbit reunion featuring Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd; Star Trek legend George Takei; Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito; Brendan Fraser from the Mummy films, Encino Man and Blast From the Past; Alicia Silverstone from Clueless and Blast From the Past; and comedian and actor John Leguizamo.
