Close. We’re so close, kids.
The opening of society and the return to “normalcy” is happening, slowly, and soon you’ll be able to head to your favourite local venue to catch something we all crave — live music.
In fact, as the second part of the roll out, bars are now allowed to have performers, just no singing or, um, blowing.
But for those craving the voice, there are still a number of online options, including the Calgary Folk Music Festival’s ongoing Virtually Live series.
This weekend, Saturday, June 13, is another superb pairing of acts with Toronto Americana artist Kaia Kater joining local roots legend Tom Phillips. It should be a special show.
And our friends at the folk fest have been kind enough to give away some passes to theYYSCENE users for you to enjoy the show from the comfort of your own home, backyard, patio — wherever!
If you’re interested, and why wouldn’t you be, head to our Facebook page, give us a like and comment underneath this post telling us the last live concert you saw before COVID.
We’ll pick a few winners at random and let them know by 1 p.m. on the Saturday — the show starts at 7 p.m., so lots of time to order in from one of your favourite local restaurants and grab yourself some quality craft beer.
Good luck and stay safe.
