‘Car Ride to the Cosmos’ – Beakerhead at the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory

September 21, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm MDT

Take a car ride out to the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory in search of the very far, very small, or very vast. Learn more about the weird world of quantum physics with Dr. Phil Langill from the University of Calgary, who will share the latest in quantum research. In this hands-on exploratory evening, you will be dazzled with delightful sights with the help of some high-powered telescopes and University of Calgary astronomers along with members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

The open house will feature access to an array of telescopes operated by University of Calgary astronomers and members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada – Calgary Centre.  You will have the opportunity to look through the telescopes and astronomers will be on hand to answer questions.

In the sky – A near full moon will light the way to view Mars and Saturn!
