d.talks: Let’s Talk About…Movement

January 22, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm MST

When we discuss movement in a city we often get caught up in speed, crossings and timetables. For this event we wanted to change that focus and, instead, explore the role design plays in helping people move in the city. What is our relationship to each other as a result of the constructions (and assumptions) that we’ve made about moving and connecting in the city? How can we ensure that our city is accessible to those with physical and cognitive challenges?
To explore these questions, the (amazing!) panel includes Giovanna Borasi (Canadian Centre for Architecture), Amanda Kolson Hurley (City Lab), Don Mulligan (Calgary), Nabeel Ramji (Bricolage Calgary), Brigitte Shim (Shim-Sutcliffe Architecture), Cowboy Smithx (Iiniistsi: Treaty Arts Society), and Shin-pei Tsay (Gehl Institute.
Starting at 6 p.m. on January 22, this event will take place at the New Central Library (802 3 St SE). For more details, see the attached poster or visit our website
