Key of T

September 27, 2019 @ 7:00 pm MDT

$10 – $13

What happens to a singer’s voice when they undergo testosterone therapy? Transgender singer Ari Agha (they/them pronouns) and assistant professor Laura Hynes (Music, she/her pronouns) are documenting Agha’s journey through the SSHRC-funded research-creation project Key of T.

Key of T is a distinctly uncommon vocal/music theatre performance that moves through and beyond one singer’s gender transition with testosterone and explores what it means to be a person of voice. It illuminates the richness and complexity that exists beyond the gender binary and celebrates the process of becoming. The performance features solo singing and choral music, an electronic soundscape, and shadow puppetry.

Tickets are $13 (adults) and $10 (students/seniors) and are available online at scpa.ucalgary.ca/events
