Ladyhawk “You Read My Mind” (video) :

“You Read My Mind” is for now at least the clear hit song from Ladyhawk’s all-awesome No Can Do album. Now they’ve given the track some seriously awesome visuals offering up an animated collage of pop cultural references and gags. If you weren’t crushing on them before there’s no denying it now.

Mean Jeans “Ragers of the Last Sparks / Possessed 2 Party (with U)" (video) :

Portland’s Mean Jeans aka The Greatest Band of All Time recently released what can only be described as a short film for their new single “Possessed 2 Party (with U).” With the alternate title “Ragers of the Last Sparks” this next-level clip sees the band on an Indiana Jones tip as they search for some fucked up party dranks. Loboto life in full effect.

Desire “Tears From Heaven” (video) :

Speaking of Portland Johnny Jewel has already released one of the year’s best LPs with his band Chromatics. Now he’s working with his other monikers to help deliver After Dark 2 . One of those projects is Desire who deliver a crackly R&B single in “Tears From Heaven.”

Earl Sweatshirt “Chum” :

Odd Future MVP Earl Sweatshirt is still working on his debut longplayer but if it sounds anything as good as new leak “Chum” it’ll have been worth the wait. He’s always been the best of the bunch but this is some serious heartfelt rap shit.

Ever since he released last year’s fantastic Step Brothers mixtape Don Trip has been a rapper to watch. His latest mixtape Help is on the Way is packed with solid production top-shelf verses and guest spots from the likes of Starlito and the always welcome Danny Brown.
